THE cafe at the Coronation Centre in Cadbury Heath shut at the end of last month after just a year.
Announcing the closure on social media, the centre said the decision has been taken with great sadness
“Although we have only been open for a year, we have loved welcoming members of our community through our doors and building so many wonderful connections. Unfortunately, despite trying a number of different approaches to make the café sustainable, the rising cost of living and increasing operating costs have hit hard. Sadly, the finances simply do not add up, and we can no longer continue running the café at a loss.
“This has not been an easy decision to make, and we are incredibly disappointed that we have reached this point.
“We will still be using the kitchen for events and buffet catering, and we look forward to continuing to support the community in that way.”
The centre team thanked everyone who had supported the cafe.
