Developer boosts AEK-Boco footballers

AEK-Boco’s under 11 girls team has been given a kickstart thanks to a housing developer.

Persimmon Homes Severn Valley has donated £930 towards new kit for the team.

AEK-Boco FC, formed in 2003 following the merger of AEK Rangers and Boco Juniors, boasts a strong youth section with teams ranging from U5/6s to U18s. Almost 500 children are signed on to the club, competing in the Hanham Minor, Avon Youth and Bristol Girls League.

The donation has helped support the club’s commitment to growing participation in football among girls.

The team’s manager Ben White said: “We’re delighted to receive this support from Persimmon.

“Our youth section is thriving, and interest in girls’ football is growing rapidly.

“This funding will help us provide the equipment and facilities needed to give every player the best experience possible.”

Persimmon’s Community Champions programme donates £700,000 annually to good causes across Britain. Commenting, Persimmon Homes Severn Valley Sales Director Carly Spear said: “Persimmon’s Community Champions scheme is all about supporting great initiatives in the areas where we build.

“We’re proud to back AEK-Boco FC, especially as they work hard to widen access to football for young girls.

“With women’s football continuing to inspire the next generation, this donation will help ensure those opportunities are available locally.”
