THE prospect of homes being built on a brownfield site in Hanham has moved a little closer.
The former Kleeneze site in Anstey’s Road has been put up for sale to developers by the Government agency Homes England.
Outline planning permission has been granted for up to 200 homes, 35 per cent of which should be affordable.
Savills, which is marketing the site, says there is some scope for flexibility over the layout of the “urban village” scheme so that it will be integrated with the wider Hanham area.
The design brief suggests there should be more houses than flats and that apartment blocks should be four storeys high.
Tesco bought the 5.78 acre factory from the brushmakers in 2003. Homes England took it on in 2o20 and cleared the site ready for development.
