Frys Bowling Club – May 2026

With the sun starting to poke through, Fry’s have made a gentle start to the season. First up was a successful friendly at St Anne’s Park with Fry’s taking the win, before a Saturday friendly at Begbrook Green. The following week saw the first competitive match of the season with a match at Avonvale. Challenging conditions saw Fry’s get off to a slow start, but started to get back into the game. Unfortunately, the rain stopped the game early with Avonvale taking the win. The first home game of the season was against Norwest with 5 rinks in play. Across 4 rinks, the honours were tied, with the 5th and final rink 10 shots in Fry’s favour, they took the overall win. The ladies started their season on 21st April with a match at Page Park. The Bristol and District League team begin with an away match at Henleaze ‘A’.

The social calendar for the season is taking shape, with plans for the annual summer BBQ in July, which will hopefully see a return of the Oldland Ukelele Club along with special guests. A new event for this year will see members take a boat trip along Avon Gorge at the end of August.

Meanwhile, the green and gardening team have been hard at work getting the green and the gardens ready for the new season.
