International double for Ranger Imogen

A MEMBER of Bitton Rangers is raising funds to help fulfil her dream of representing local Guides at two international events.

Imogen, 14, has been part of Girlguiding in the village since the age of four. As well as attending the Rangers, she also helps at Guides.

In January 2025, she was selected to represent Guides on a trip to Belgium. Soon afterwards, she was chosen to represent the South West on an international visit to India this August. The trip will involve taking part in a community project as well as experiencing Indian culture and heritage.

More recently, Imogen was selected to represent Girlguiding at an international jamboree in Iceland next summer. To raise funds, she has already organised a successful event at the Portwall Tavern in Bristol, supported by actor and radio presenter Joe Sims. She is now hosting a quiz and comedy night at the Scout HQ in Keynsham on Saturday May 16. Tickets cost £5 and can be bought from Eventbrite – search for ‘Get Imogen to India Quiz & Comedy night’.

Imogen, who lives in Keynsham and attends Wellsway School, is £500 away from her £3,600 target for India. She is now starting to raise funds towards a further £2,700 for the Iceland trip.
