£1,000 boost for football club

HANHAM Athletic FC’s under elevens side is the latest recipient of Persimmon Homes’ Community Champions fund.

The developer presented the £1,000 to players at their training facilities at King’s Oak Academy in Kingswood. The money will go towards new clothing and equipment for the young players.

Established in 1896, the club is one of Bristol’s oldest and currently plays in the Gloucestershire County League.

The Community Champions scheme sees £700,000 a year spent on good causes. Recent local recipients include Bristol Baby Bank Network, Bristol Normandy Veterans, Jessie May and Blood Bikes.
