It was straight in at the deep end for the swim team from Hanham Woods Academy as they competed in the annual swimming gala hosted by the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF).
Staged at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre, the contest saw eight academies take part in what proved to be a competitive and exciting event.
After a full programme of swimming disciplines, Hanham Woods Academy secured a commendable fourth-place finish, an excellent result that reflects the dedication and talent of the team.
Several students were representing the school for the first time and delivered outstanding performances,
Event highlights:
1st place – Year 7 girls’ front crawl
1st place – 25m backstroke
1st place – Year 8 individual medley
1st place – Year 8 mixed medley relay
A spokesperson for the academy said: “We are incredibly proud of all our swimmers who represented the academy with determination, teamwork, and enthusiasm.
“To achieve multiple first-place finishes and a strong overall result is a testament to their hard work and commitment.
“This was a fantastic experience for both new and experienced competitors alike.”
