Cricket club’s mower appeal

Hanham Cricket Club has launched an appeal to raise £16,000 for a new ride-on mower after its previous one was wrecked by fire.

The club, which runs senior, youth and women’s teams, says the setback has left it unable to keep the pitches at its Abbots Road ground  in top condition.

“Without a functioning ride-on mower, our ability to prepare and maintain the playing surface is severely compromised. This not only affects the quality of play for our teams but also poses safety risks for everyone involved. As a volunteer-run club, we rely heavily on the support of our members to keep our facilities up and running,” it said in a statement.
