Hundreds of people turned out for the first Wassail event at Magpie Bottom nature reserve. The event was organised by the Friends of Magpie Bottom Nature Reserve with the support of Kingswood Town Council and featured Rag Morris. Participants made crowns from foliage, and sang the Gloucestershire Wassail song, creating a joyful noise with pots and pans. It was all part of the traditional ceremony of blessing and waking the trees, offering slices of toast to encourage a good harvest. Photo: Alan Cochrane
