Kingswood Memories: November 2025

Lest We Forget

Remembrance Sunday is observed at many venues across our area on the second Sunday of November, and commemorates all the members of our Armed Forces who have died in wars and other military conflicts since the onset of World War I.

This year’s remembrance marks the 80th anniversary of the ending of hostilities in Europe and in the Far East.

The traditional two-minute period of silence will be observed this year on Sunday 9th November, and church services and other ceremonial gatherings will take place during the day.

The two photographs show the Remembrance Service at Warmley War Memorial in 1976 (above) (courtesy of the Brian Haynes collection), and the Remembrance Parade in Warmley High Street in 1990 (below).
