Cabot Learning Federation (CLF) Post 16 Year 12 students participated in Community Action Day 2023, where they volunteered with charities across Bristol to give back to their community.
More than 120 students took part in a wide range of activities across the city, which included volunteering projects in charity shops, schools, parks, city farms and other community initiatives.
Community Action Day is a multi-agency event designed to build community relationships, make a positive difference and to enable the students to explore volunteering opportunities to broaden their career options.
Kate Brisley, career coach at CLF Post 16, which is based at John Cabot Academy in Kingswood, said: “We would like to thank the organisations who agreed to take part in supporting our students to develop their skills in preparation for their future careers.
“It is important for us to link with local charities and organisations within our community to make a difference, and to give our students these valuable volunteering opportunities. It was a great day for the students and staff.”
